Happy Tears

Getting to share clean pathology results to a worried owner never gets old. I love seeing that anxiety melt away, the happy tears, or even just hearing a huge sigh of relief on the phone. Got to savor those little wins, some weeks they are few and far between!

Passing a NG tube on a horse this morning, I got lube on my mouthpiece, here’s the conversation with the owner, near 70 years old: Me: Blech, that tastes god-awful Her: I bet! You know, you ought to get that flavored stuff at the exotic store. Me: 😳….You think they have strawberry? Her: Or chocolate!

I was parked outside Animal Hospital today treating a goat from out of town and a guy walks up and genuinely asks, “what are you guys making out here?”. He legitimately thought my work rig was a food truck. 🤣 Oh the things I could serve him.

Perfect calving weather. Nice barn. Yea, she’s definitely not in that barn. God has a sense of humor. 1200 lbs of snortin’ mad, fearless brangus heifer charging at you through the fence will test the cardio, climbing skills, and religion in a hurry.
