About

1987 model. Husband to Megan.  I have the best dog in the world – a mutt named Tucker (Tuck, or Tucker J).  We have a farm with 4 horses, a couple of hay fields, 2 barn cats, 2 house cats. I was born in the most beautiful place on earth and have returned here to live and serve in the mountains of Western North Carolina.  First generation college graduate. Introvert with a very extroverted job. We run a large animal veterinary practice.  I enjoy playing piano, quiet walks through the woods along the creek, craft beer, life-giving conversation, scuba diving, riding horses, and mowing – yes mowing.  I like to write, but don’t get to do it enough. I created a blog a year ago, abandoned it, and will likely continue abandoning it periodically in the future. I enjoy non-fiction, biographies, and progressive Christian thought.  I hate the texture of most soft things – think dryer lint and cotton balls and ridiculous fleecy blankets.  I love the smell of silage, horses, a leather shop, the hardware store.  I live for those rare moments of unexpected laughter leading to tears and crampy cheeks, and to breathe in the cold air right before it snows.
